Despite its enormous conflicts, the contemporary world has proved to be the most peaceful period in the world since the two great world wars. Never before have States exchanged their offensive and violent capacities through interaction that promote conversation between them, trade, and especially, create rules to improve and facilitate their relations in the international system. Traditional diplomacy has become a central element in States' political action. However, with the emergence of new information and communication technologies and the new dynamics of virtual sociability through social media, this diplomacy has come under enormous pressure (01). The negotiations within a traditional diplomatic board began to occupy the public space of social media apps where political leaders started to interact and make political movements (02). Thus, the virtual space that for many was seen exclusively as a new domain of war has become, through its political use, a possible new tool for peace-building and promoter of great negotiations between States.

A significant part of the internationalization efforts regarding emerging countries or middle powers seems to be about their efficiency in amplifying international cooperation. Although many regimes have been benefiting from creating new partnerships, there is a visible effect from the cooperative architectures built from some core strategies of the participant states. In the Global South, cooperation has also been a way to achieve significance as state reputation is about confidence-building. Besides, there has been a misapprehension of the direct and indirect paybacks associated with those cooperation architectures either within Southern actors or North and South ones. Noticeably, interdependencies in various sectors have been leveraging diversification in participation in environments such as the maritime. Thus, sectorized cooperation architectures are not always the result of national strategic planning and, since different agents mobilize them from the bottom side of the chain, their effect is usually unknown or invisible.

In recent years, the National Institute for Space Research, INPE, has indicated an increase in fire and deforestation areas in the Amazon region. The indicators show a constant need to develop public control measures and policies in illegal activities and establish a network of agencies to combat these activities. INPE maps fire spots and deforested areas for information from control institutions and the Brazilian government to implement conditions to combat environmental crimes and resolve impacts on the environment and the local population. The Brazilian government's control and combat proposals are made through two sequential inter-agency operations involving civilian agencies and the armed forces: Verde-Brasil Operation and Verde-Brasil Operation 2. These deliberations through interagency action are emergency forms of managing the environmental crisis that has involved the Amazon region and the Brazilian responsive to the international context.

The EU knows responses must be rethought when the spaces of power are reconfigured through crisis environments. In terms of migration, it is possible to observe management initiatives based on border control with a low degree of compliance with current legislation. The effects of difficulties in harmonising regional and national policies lead to problems in human security, which is decisive for an eventual imbalance of forces within the Community political framework. At the beginning of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hit the region's countries mostly and, with the imposition of restrictive measures on the movement of people, the border closure was a measure of sanitary containment. This event set precedents for practices to control migration flow that affected the current commitments, already marked by little efficiency.

In December 2020, Sweden's Parliament approved an increase of 40% in the defense budget for 2021 – 2025, resulting in the amount of 27 billion Swedish kronor ($3 billion) in the period, the largest increase in 70 years. This is due to regional tensions with Russia, but it allows Sweden to think about new projects both for itself and with partnerships. For example, in the naval sector, the country should explore the potential of the closest relation with Brazil. Sweden has already consolidated cooperation within aeronautics because of the SAAB Gripen Contract in 2014. Brazil and Sweden have a high concern about their waters, a background in defense and the naval sector, specifically, and a range of opportunities to work together. This policy brief presents, then, an outlook of the Brazilian and Swedish naval industry related.

The more we can advance in knowledge about the New Coronavirus (COVID-19), the greater are the chances of fighting it. In this sense, the achievements of the science have been impressive. However, it is essential to reflect on the impacts of the current pandemic on the economic, political, and social spheres, beyond the acceleration of the reorganization of global power whose epicenter may no longer be restricted to the developed West. Concerning the economy, the scenario is of bankruptcies and market concentration among large companies. In the orbit of politics, polarization and worsening of xenophobic nationalism. In the social sphere, unemployment and increasing inequalities. About global power, the growing projection of East Asia is imposed on decision-makers at the same speed with which dissent divides opinions on these themes.

Discussions on the cybersecurity domain touch on some principles undergoing accelerated transformation, both from state renewal and business arena. This transformation points to a significant movement in the communication channels which are little subject to external control since the very nature of these relations escapes the institutional ingredients available from states and international regimes. If the way interactions take place inhibits surveillance, ties' intensification presents a moral regulatory demand that manifests itself as a relevant component of the global system's stability. The European Union launched in Dec 2020 its new EU Cybersecurity Strategy (1), and the challenges it is posed to deal with are only achievable through overlapping policies with a comprehensive and across borders feasible framework.
