The InterAgency Institute was established in December 2020 as a digital think tank, founded by expatriate and Global South women as a collective of researchers.
The IA is driven by the goal of working on behalf of human security in two dimensions: local development and global security. In 2019, the UNDP published an article explaining the progress of the concept on its 25th anniversary, which led to an understanding as “the right of people to live in freedom and dignity, free from poverty and despair.” (General Assembly resolution 66/290 of 2012).
We are specially dedicated to Portuguese-speaking and Spanish-speaking Countries as our core focus. The Interagency umbrella is a particular view on the processes we have been working for, searching and applying knowledge where we are marked by the principle of building bridges and enhancing knowledge circulation, transparency, cooperation, and access.
